Our experience with this relocation company was extremely disappointing and fell far short of expectations.

We were not informed in advance that “packed by owner” goods would not be accepted. This crucial detail was shared only at the last minute, causing us to waste time undoing our preparations for their inspection.

Despite careful measurements on our end showing our items were under the specified volume, we were unexpectedly charged extra for exceeding it. This inconsistency was frustrating.

We were misled about the shipping timeline: we were initially told our goods would ship within a week, but this was far from accurate.

Communication regarding our shipment's route and arrival was confusing and outdated. Our shipment, originally expected at our destination on September 9, did not arrive in Japan until October 21 and reached our home only on October 31. This extended delay was extremely difficult for us.

Repeated attempts to get information from this company went largely unanswered. We only received updates through someone who works for the local partner in Japan. She had to reach out on our behalf to get responses, which often turned out to be outdated or incorrect.

In summary, poor communication was the most disappointing aspect of the service. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this company to others and would suggest considering alternative options for an international move.

The only positive takeaway was that the local partner in Japan was far more efficient and helpful throughout this process.

All of our dealings with Brytor were easy and professional. All questions were answered, the movers arrived on time, everything was packed quickly, and the movers were friendly. The volume that we shipped ended up being twice what we had expected to ship and the revised price was very reasonable. We received the actual shipping dates within three weeks of our goods being picked up and the goods will be arriving in Melbourne (from Vancouver) within 9 weeks of the pick up date so we are very happy with that.

We are hoping that the service we receive on the Australian end is as good as it was in Canada.

I moved from Portugal to Canada using Global international Relocation in Portugal, who partnered with Brytor International in Canada. I was sick and my husband had died. These two companies patiently guided me through the whole process. All my questions were answered; somehow all the paperwork got completed. The movers on both side of the Atlantic were punctual, super courteous, and respectful of my goods. Thank you for helping me through a very stressful time, Frances

I contracted Brytor International Moving (www.Brytor.ca) to ship household goods and personal items from Canada to UK (door-to-door service) and paid in-full (in-fool) upfront.

Brytor removed my goods from storage on 13th July 2023 and I still have not received them as of today 6th Dec 2023.

Brytor have claimed I owe further fees and have refused to deliver but will not provide proof of shipping and have informed me that my account is now closed?

Brytor (aka: IMS Moving Network & Intraglobe) are in Breach of Contract and hiding behind their "Legal Department" in Canada...

Their customer service is zero and their business practice is questionable. This is my dealings and my opinion of Brytor International...

I have used Brytor for three international moves: Ottawa to Hong Kong (2014), Hong Kong to Brussels, Belgium (2019), and Brussels to Stratford, Ontario (2022). The first move was exceptional and the second was very good, but my 2022 move was horrible. I am only writing this review now, more than a year later, because my insurance claim is still outstanding and Brytor is showing no sign of resolving it. I feel obliged now to warn others about using this company.

My first experience with Brytor was outstanding. My agent was superb and provided excellent advice and support. The packers and movers were highly professional, careful and respectful of my belongings.

Our second move was fine, not the quality we experienced in Canada, but we attributed that to different overseas standards. We had insurance claims on both our Hong Kong and Brussels moves and both were handled very well. Good appraisers were sent right away to inspect the damages, skilled craftspeople were sent to make repairs, and settlements were prompt and professionally handled.

Regrettably, our third move has been a completely different experience.

Things went alright until delivery of our goods to our new home. The movers were labour, not professional movers, but pleasant enough. The mood was somber though because as our goods were brought into our home, our hearts sank as item after item was damaged. Many of the boxes were broken, crushed or had holes literally punched through the wrapping.

We had spent A LOT of time prior to our move reviewing Brytor’s insurance coverage with our Ottawa-based agent who facilitated and informed us throughout that process. We submitted our claim within the 30-day period required by the insurance company, which states an estimated deadline of 20 days for analysis. Four months later, they responded with an error-riddled, shockingly unrealistic offer.

We worked hard to find alternative repair solutions and submitted a revised claim. We then waited a further three months, only to receive yet another incomplete response that not only disregarded the extent of the damages caused by their movers but also failed to answer our questions. At no time has Brytor sent an appraiser to inspect the damages or quality of the furniture, nor have they provided any other repair or replacement options.

Brytor has offered compensation for some of the items, but we still have two items to resolve and Brytor is failing to respond. Repeated prompt emails and requests for a copy of the insurance certificate have not been answered and it has now been 13 months since we submitted our original claim.

I have spent tens of thousands of dollars with this company over the past ten years. Yet they are acting as if they are annoyed with me for filing an insurance claim – for furniture and property that was damaged by their movers, no less.

I cannot express my shock at the decline in service from this company over the years. I engaged them in 2022 because I had such good experiences with them twice before. But this last move has been one where the company has shown poor quality of handling and great disregard for customer service. They have utterly failed to live up their promise of delivering peace of mind.

I cannot recommend Brytor. There are other options for movers. Do not use this company.

We dealt with. Branch in Dartmouth Nova Scotia for our move to France. Absolutely excellent from start to finish. Competent, well organized, easy to communicate with, and the 5 guys who came to load up our stuff were very friendly and efficient.
The price was also well below other quotes.
Highly recommended.

I paid an insurance with them for damage to move from Calgary to Malaga and finally they didn't paid anything and I'm claiming this nonsense for over a year since my moving....
Now I can't use anything of my belongings after I've paid 13.000 Canadian dollars bill for my moving.
This is a really a bad experience and I don't recommend this company to my worst enemy!...

I entered into what seemed to be a straightforward 'door-to-door' delivery service for my personal belongings with Brytor International on my permanent return to my home country in Manila, Philippines. The initial encounter with the company's manager was relatively pleasant, thus I felt I could trust the quality of their service based on this initial exchange. I should have done my due diligence more thoroughly. As it turned out, there was nothing straightforward about their service offering, and the biggest letdown for me was the final total cost. The entire service took almost 3 months and I ended up paying almost double their initial quote. (This was my first time shipping my entire household belongings back to Manila and I was totally dependent on their advice and trustworthiness.)

I felt Brytor took advantage of my lack of complete knowledge of the shipping process, and they weren't as forthcoming with any advice or caveat about hidden surcharges given that there were 3rd party providers involved, including implications on customs, duties, and insurance. As a returning overseas professional counting on the Philippines' Balikbayan program, I didn't expect to pay the additional $2,000 in taxes and other charges, which I was told after the fact when I was about to receive my shipment 3 months later. As I reflect back, Brytor strung me around by low-balling their initial quote and once I started the process, I was presented with options on whether to proceed to the next step or not with each additional step adding to the total cost. In the end, I felt robbed and mentally exhausted and I almost gave up the entire process due to frustration. As a newly retired professional, I ended up paying a huge chunk of my personal savings into this shipment, and I felt my decision would have been completely different had I known the cost and headache associated. I would caution other movers to do their due diligence and be more assertive in drawing out all the hidden costs. All in all, between the drone that was taken out in one of the sealed boxes, and additional (hidden) charges, I ended up paying an additional $10,000 money I could have saved for the future.

Seamless move from Toronto to Hungary

We had never moved overseas before and Brytor made the experience stressless and seamless. I would recommend them to anyone. Their pricing was the best, their movers were nice and happy, their office staff were nice and promptly responded to our many questions. I have nothing but good to say about them and our seamless move overseas.

More on Facebook.
They are part of International movers network, so don’t think they are local people!

DO NOT FALL FOR CHEAP QUOTE.
My experience was this: after receiving a quote for $2500 to move less than 5 cubic meters of items (send with picture – first mistake), we thought that would work to send the remaining items of a previous larger move (used a much better company). We have moved several times so expected a few extra costs.. so we paid the deposit and signed the SCAMMER online form it is very hard to read and you don’t get to print this, and it has ALL the clauses basically saying that if you sign this- your stuff is ours – so PLEASE SAVE yourself the time and money and go with another company.
Soon after we were demanded to pay the rest of the money- so we did. BUT then they told us AFTER they moved it into THEIR warehouse that the cost would be DOUBLE _ YES DOUBLE!!
So demanded another $2500 from us – because we added one bag – which we would have happily removed if they were up front and honest- but I a sure you realize by now that these are not that type of people or business. So, we request to cancel our order – as these are not must have items but ones we wanted to keep and send if we could for an appropriate price. Not $5000 for a of couple chairs, a rug and a picture. They KEEP OUR MONEY; they give my parents (we are already abroad) the number for the storage guy – their own employees KNOW THEY ARE SCAMMERS!! He tells my dad, who cannot drive to Vancouver till later on in the month that it is fine with him to store (FREE OF COST), but they will force them to pay the $900 to give back MY STUFF!!!!! And the only reason I probably got my stuff back was because I hired a lawyer. THEY NEED TO BE SUED!

YOU READ THAT RIGHT, THEY QUOTED US - MOVED OUR STUFF TO VANCOUVER WITHOUT TELLING US IT WOULD BE DOUBLE THE AMOUNT – THEN CHARGED US EVEN MORE FOR CANCELING AND PICKING UP OUR OWN STUFF. Sick.

This company needs to be neglected, refused and put in the trash where it belongs.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY or ANY of its subsidiaries. THEY ARE SCAMMERS.

Costs not what they appear...56% more than original quote

We definitely do not recommend Brytor. This was our first international relocation...Canada to Spain.
We received a quote for 2 cubic meters. Given that, we measured out the pallet size in the floor/wall and packed our boxes accordingly. We had some loose items that we built a wooden box and shrink wrapped it. Given it’s odd size, we made holes in one cardboard box so that 2 protruding parts would easily fit into ensuring everything was within the dimensions of 2 cubic meters.
We took and sent pictures to our representative and even wrote the stacking order on the boxes so that when the warehouse team prepared the pallet, they would have this information. But this information never got to them or they ignored it thereby charging us another 450$ stating that our shipment was 2.4 cubic meters. We argued for 2 days with our representative, warehouse manager...all to no avail. We called the president and left a message which was never returned. Of course, they hold all your possessions as hostage so you don’t pay, they don’t send your stuff. Given our timeline, we paid the invoice.
Throughout the shipment at sea...barely any communication on status of where our stuff was at, when it would arrive, nothing!
Then shipment arrives in Spain via AGS movers...goes through customs, wait, wait, call AGS representative and only get information when we call. No customer service whatsoever. And again, we get another invoice...this time 350 Euros for handling fees ...like really?! To do what?! Again you don’t pay, they don’t send your stuff!
Finally after 2+ months, our shipment was delivered! The only super positive aspect was that the delivery guys brought our boxes all the way to our apartment rather than street drop off! Truly went the extra mile...am thankful for that!
All this to say the small print in the contract was worded such that they could send additional invoices without proper any justification. Once they have your possessions, what can you do or who can you go to... buyer beware...may be cheaper quote but there are hidden costs that will come when you aren’t expecting it.

Missing and damaged goods, 4 months delay and overpaid tax

The company failed to deliver in every possible way, resulting in hundreds of pounds of overpaid tax bills and damaged and missing property, and a 4 months delay. None of the advisors had any idea about tax resulting in them refusing to deliver my belongings without paying hundreds of pounds to HMRC that HMRC specifically said were not due. The company did not have the courtesy to notify my of the 4 month delay in arrival of the goods, requiring me to chase them on a weekly basis. The company then damaged and lost my belongings and refused to pay insurance, falsely claiming that I had signed a document that said I had received everything in good condition.

Lost one expensive item, final cost 50% higher than contract

Unfortunately I cannot recommend Brytor. This has by far been my worst experience with an international relocation. The small print in the contract was worded such that they could send me additional invoices, and I received three (!) without proper backup documentation of these costs actually being incurred. Once they have your possessions, it's really difficult to do much about that. On top of that they lost my snowboard, and the communication was poor.

I am very impressed and I highly recommend this mover

I was moving from Edmonton Canada to Gnarrenburg Germany. I contacted Brytor International Moving. Manager Jamie did a virtual assessment via Face Time accurately and efficiently. The movers came to my condo and did all the packing, lifting and moving very effectively and efficiently. The crew was also very kind, friendly and interactive. Jamie was very patient helping me fill in all the customs forms and insurance forms. Email communications were constant and effective. Then GMS at the UK got involved and that was where my stuff would be clearing customs. Nikki from GMS created great and effective communications with me. She took the time difference into considerations when she phoned me in Canada and I was very impressed. My fiance in Germany received my shipment. The only unfortunate thing was the truck was too big for the narrow country road, while I did pre-warn Nikki about the requirements and the rules for size and weight of trucks allowed in this particular area (and I did pay extra for that). The drivers did bring all the shipment manually into my fiance's house, unbox them and carry them upstairs. There was one picture frame damaged and my fiance signed for it but I never heard from GMS about it. But the rest of my stuff are perfectly packed. I have lots of delicate porcelain collectibles and they have all arrived safely and soundly. I am very happy and impressed by all the movers involved in this process. I highly recommend them. Thank you and God bless :)

Horrible

This company is the worst international movers out there!! We contacted them for a move to Australia. They came to the storage locker in Whiterock where our home was in storage. They quoted us 4600.00 for 8 cubic metres. To make a long story short we went ahead and booked the move online which apparently gave us a contract and terms and conditions. They immediately sent an email requesting 800.00 deposit, they hadn't even picked up the storage locker yet. When they did come to pick up the locker I added a queen size mattress and box spring and some outdoor furniture which consisted of 4 acapulco style chairs, small square table and small 2 seater. The lady that came out was named Tilly, she stated that storage was free until the container left for Australia. The next day we received a demand for 3650.00 and then the phone calls started to my daughter in Australia at 4am everyday for weeks. I paid the balance of the move even though I thought I shouldn't until the container left. We then received another email demanding 2600.00 for storage and 2400.00 for the bed and outdoor furniture. HAHA not funny, oh but they were so adamant!! We went to the company at their Richmond location and removed the extra furniture. We fought the charges for the storage which they erased but they are still adamant that I pay 800.00 because they had to move the bed and patio to Richmond on the same truck as everything else. Are they kidding!! Not paying them anything else especially 800.00 to move a bed and patio stuff that we went and pulled out of the shipment. Would never recommend these guys to anyone, they are shysters liars and don't know how to run a business in Canada or how to treat their customers. Had to contact a lawyer to get my money back and my belongings...

Household goods

Terrible company to do business. The shipment was not properly packed so the shipment ended up getting damaged on the ocean journey. I now have to pay for repackaging 600$ Further, I got changed a massive charge for being over the specified dimensions despite having accurately measured to stay within the provided limits. SHIPMENT NOW PUT ON HOLD BY BRYTOR UNTIL I PAY RANSOM

NEVER EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM - Trust me you will save a lot of money.

Dreadful company

Having used a different company on two previous overseas trips without mishap, I was shocked and appalled at the amount of damage to my property after this most recent move. Some breakables were packed amidst non breakables, only one box was marked fragile and even goods wrapped in the padded plastic packing were damaged. I will never use this company again.

Efficient and attentive

They were very quick to respond. During the planning, I had a lot of questions as this was the first time I was moving personal items in such bulk. Each query was replied promptly, clearly, and they spent time reassuring me of any of the worries I might have. They were also very clear each step of the way on what needed to be done and it made the planning and move very comfortable and efficient. I would definitely contact them again for their services.

My furniture and boxes were very efficiently moved from my home in Kelowna on the 26th.February. As of this moment I have heard nothing yet regarding the actual shipping date out of Vancouver/ Richmond. I am lead to believe that the journey to the shores of the U.K. could take up to three months. I will be patient!
