Personal Items were stolen from our house by the packers.
Avoid getting ripped off! If you are shipping your personal belongings to the USA be vigilant!
We were treated very badly by a Panama based shipping company. They removed everything that we wanted shipped from our house and provided a vague and inaccurate inventory/shipping list. They stole whatever they wanted by taking things away, but not putting them into the packages that were shipped. Your onsite agents must be trustworthy and vigilant. They must watch the packing of your belongings with hawk eyes. They must also watch what goes into the packer/shipper’s truck.
The company that took dishonest advantage of us was PA Wxxxx Wxxx Exxxxx. The contact agents were Mxxx Rxxxx and Rxxx Pxxxx. Avoid doing any business with a company that fits these letters.
They took tools, irreplaceable family heirlooms that had great sentimental value, practical everyday supplies, and decorative and art items. They deny all responsibility, yet it could only have been them. They prepared an inventory list while packing at our home in Panama. All of the packages on their inventory list arrived at our destination in the USA. All packages were unopened so what went into them was delivered to us in the USA. What wasn’t delivered to us, was never included in the packages that were listed in the inventory. Watch to be sure that all of the packages on the truck are listed as part of the inventory. There should be no “extra” packages in their truck that are not part of the listed inventory. Those many missing items of ours were stolen by the business employees who did the packing at our home.
The business manager knows this to be true, but denies it and refuses to make compensation.
Be aware, be vigilant. And, if you use someone locally in Panama to oversee your packing, be sure that they are aggressively watching the entire packing process all day. They must clearly understand that they need to be very vigilant and that they must also cross check the inventory list against the packages in the truck at the end of the day.
