I selected MrMove for a move from India to Portugal after examining 2 other competitors. MyMove seemed the most professional; their Sales team responded quickly to questions; and follow up as the due date neared was great. The moving team arrived on schedule. Matters started going downhill from there.
The moving team had enough personnel, but the "boss" wasn't organized. They wasted a lot of time packing individual items that did not need such packaging — I brought it up a couple of times. The result: they ran out of time and finished the latter half in quite a slipshod way; they even ran out of cartons. I wanted marking of the cartons by room so that it'd be easier when unpacking — they failed to do that.
Shipment happened on schedule but matters took a nasty turn on arrival at the port destination. Their estimate of "port and destination charges" was way, way, off; they had indicated $250 to $350; it turned out to be more like $1,500. Worse, neither they or their Portugal partner, alerted me to the need for a baggage certificate from the Consulate in India… which resulted in a Customs hold up in Portugal for almost 1 month, customs duty and fees of about $2,000 and demurrage (because of customs delays) of $1,200.
They then demanded that I pay their Portugal partner in Euros even though our contract specifically said that the option to pay in INR or Euros was mine. They even lied to me repeatedly on the matter. Sandeep Rana, the boss I think, and the rest of the team simply ghosted my repeated email queries either by answering questions that I did not ask, lying about the contract (that was obvious to see) or not responding at all,
I think their partner in Portugal also played their game, pretending that timelines were short, that MrMove's transfer would not arrive in time, blah, blah, blah… so "you must pay in Euros right away". About 3 weeks before the goods were actually delivered, I had already paid 4,000 Euros to the Portugal partner with timelines slipping from "29th April for sure" to "next week" repeatedly, until the goods were actually delivered on 18th May, just 2 days before I was leaving Portugal for Canada. Overall, the experience was very stressful and, if I'd known what I now know, I'd never have shipped my goods, instead simply selling them in India.
Bottom line: MrMove cannot be trusted. They are great when selling, but they appear to be a small outfit with no integrity, and are either incompetent or willfully obfuscating true costs which are not covered by the contract. For international shipping at least, look elsewhere.
