2 trucks London to Lisbon

Not very impressed, first they booked 2 trucks to do a pick up, one to storage (mainly) and the other from our house, the one from storage left immediately (we later found out only 800KG weight out of 1,000KG), and the second one after many hours could not fit our stuff from the house, I suggested that the second truck come back but he said he was fully weighted (which was a lie), the second truck did not enter the weight on the docket, and in the end we ended up leaving a load of stuff, and having to organise another half-load as a result .... we organised the pickup on Thursday so that it would arrive at our new destination on Saturday, and the call-operative told us that this was better as they are not available on Sunday ... anyway the call operative was not working on the Saturday and our stuff arrived on Sunday morning .... the subsequent 3rd order (half load) for the following Friday also arrived late, this time telling us a time and then ariving 4.5 hours late, after we had to send the team (we were paying to unload) home already. Ultimately if they had not screwed us about with the first truck we could have fitted our stuff in (or at least the bulk of it which mattered and probably dumped some of the less relevent remaining stuff) and saved us 1250 GBP ...But worst of all was the lack of communication (mostly) and mis-information when we did get through to check where the drivers were ... we were told that a driver is about 30 minutes away when he arrived hours later ....

Nearly a scam

Services that were requested weren't provided and the money for those services hasn't been refunded. Furthermore, they do not answer my emails or call anymore.

So, be smart, hire another company even if it's more expensive.

I faced a number of serious issues throughout the move with European Moving.
1) The arrival of my effects was delayed a few weeks. As a result, I incurred additional costs while waiting for all my effects to arrive. This was a breach of contract.
2) Much of the furniture and lighting arrived badly damaged. The damage was mainly holes poked in the back of furniture items, as well as deep scratches, damaged corners and surfaces. We saw the container packed in the UK, and it appeared that everything was tightly arranged, with packaging material between all items. For example, an expensive table which was triple wrapped with cardboard, bubble wrap, and blankets had still been pierced by a number of sharp points which have left indentations in the top. Similarly, the washing machine had received a sharp blow to the front which damaged the control knob and displaced the soap dispenser, broke the screws and latches holding it in place. It is now unserviceable. It is also very odd that about half of the bookcases which were also triple wrapped had holes punched in them by a hard object which suggests probably an improper packing of the container.
3) The Spanish shipping agent here in Las Palmas (MPG) kept on sending me threatening emails for more than a month, asking for all sorts of payments even though these had already been included in the quote I paid for long before the start of the move. There was also a lot of confusion, resulting in contradictory information and advice from European Moving and MPG, which meant I had to send countless emails and make countless calls. Everything could have been seamless if the information was passed on through the chain of companies of European Moving, so that all companies knew exactly what I had paid for. Instead of this, I have wasted much time and energy trying to address issues which should not have arisen in the first place. Upon my visit to the office of MPG in Las Palmas - a visit which should not have been necessary - they were also rude and inflexible, and showed no sympathy towards the difficulties I have found myself in. Once again in spite of all the documentation I provided, including the contract.
4) I have been in contact with European Moving about the above, with them simply not responding or claiming they never received my complaint. I have sent them at least 2 emails and made the same number of calls, trying to resolve the issues. My lawyer has also emailed them. They have not responded.

Friendly service, good value for money.

TERRIBLE and completely unorganized

Fully unorganized moving, the guy who suppose to come and wrap never came, it ended up by my friend wrapping with the driver
they used my wrapping material, left over from my packing
refused to return back the money due to their failure
Disaster behavior and completely unprofessional

From Devon to Spain

Our items arrived on the day stated and the driver found our property after a phone call to us (Our house is very rural). He couldn't understand much English but we managed to communicate somehow - mainly sign language

No disasters but far from stress-free

The removal men were brilliant both ends. Communication with mover was frequent when they wanted payment, however It often went quiet when tying to get vital information.

On the pick-up the driver was 9 hours late. The mover had told us throughout the day that he would be there anytime – however the van driver told us when he arrived that he had informed the mover that he would arrive in the evening.

When trying to organise a delivery time a week in advance we couldn’t get a rough arrival time from the mover – this meant we couldn’t book the furniture lift that we need for the tall Dutch buildings.

All of the furniture was moved safely and efficiently. But the whole process felt a lot more stressful than it needed to be.

Similarly, the washing machine had received a sharp blow to the front which damaged the control knob and displaced the soap dispenser, broke the screws and latches holding it in place. It is probably now unserviceable. It is also very odd that about half of the bookcases which were also triple wrapped had holes punched in them by a hard object which suggests probably an improper packing of the container.

No communication, ended up with a broken TV

So I moved to the Netherlands on September 28th, 2 days prior I had 'European Moving' sending me their driver 'Piotr' to collect my things. Price wise I expected as much, but the rest? Oh God. Lack of communication and reassurance, they literally contacted me within 2 hours that the driver was arriving at my location (when the contract said at least 24 hours). The driver 'Piotr' had no English at all so my only way to communicate with him was through Google Translate. Yes, Google Translate. He was careful when bringing things from the apartment to his van, but my guess is that during the travels he wasn't as careful. I had a computer desk, my computer, office chair, 2 terrariums, 1 aquarium and about 5 boxes of miscellaneous . When the driver arrived to Utrecht in the Netherlands at 8 PM (it was already dark), he would only drop the boxes in front of the door and obviously because it was dark from what I could see everything looked fine (I was watching all my things being brought down from the back of the van and I did notice like a big Pallet with lots of plastic wrap holding what I assumed something big). When I brought everything inside, I noticed the box for my TV had a small tear on one side, I took the TV with the Styrofoam and bubble wrap out of the box and plugged the TV to check. To my surprise, there was a massive crack going from the bottom right corner of the screen, all the way to the top left. Obviously, Piotr was already gone by that time, it was really dark at 8 PM so there was no way I could have noticed the small tear on the box and because I already signed the papers saying everything arrived, I can't claim any damaged good. I did try sending a complain to 'European Moving', despite me doing my part of the contract, making sure I had wrapped my thing secured with bubblewrap and boxed, how could I count on a massive pallet on Piotr's van hitting my TV? According to European Moving I needed an insurance despite me doing everything on my part of the contract, but hey, they won't cover any damages done by the driver since they contract sub-companies to do their job and pay them less than I paid them.

Somewhat stressful

In the beginning the comminication with the booking manager was great. However, on the day the drivers turned up hours late with no communication, barely speaking english, and one of the drivers seemed constantly angry, shouting at the other. Upon delivery, on a different day to that which they had told me, i had no warning, simply a phone call from the angry driver shouting at me that he did not have the (delivery address) and so had parked up half an hour away. The angry approach continued on his arrival. Some damage to our things but nothing structural. I feel with a calmer driver it would have been a better experience.

Amazing experience !!

Appreciate all the work done by the company. Everything went on as planned , the driver helped us tremendously ; also we didn't have to worry about anything as he called on the promised day to make sure the scheduled pick up was to happen , and he even helped to unload, not to mention the whole morning spent packing up remaining stuff with us.
Thank you European Movers , our move from Amsterdam to Bulgarian sea cost went better than we could imagine. Keep up the amazing work guys. Special thank you to George and our driver Kamil . Greetings , Mark and Valeria

Relatively stress free.

After the initial problem with the pricing (too low) had been sorted out everything went fairly smoothly.I would have preferred a bit more contact with me to keep me informed about the transport problems the company encountered, but the pick-up went very well, with a very friendly and helpful driver.The shipment arrived at our house in Estonia earlier than expected but was intact and complete.

Excellent service and price!

The move was from Switzerland to Greece. Even if last minute, the company managed to find a driver. Mitko Marinov our contact at European Movers provided a very professional and excellent service with arranging the driver. He also helped with custom procedures to bring down the cost. He was easily reachable at all times even exceptionally in the weekend before our move. Our goods arrived well, not one scratch. Excellent price for the quality of the service. Would highly recommend it.

Good price and good execution

I didn't have that much things to move (and no valuables), so I chose to go with a part-load with European moving, as they offered a very reasonable price on their service. I could choose a 3-day window when I am available and they match that with other loads that drivers are moving. There was a little confusion on dates, but they responded quickly and gave me another option that worked. The driver was very punctual on times of collection and delivery. He spoke quite little English but was polite and handled everything well. I recommend European moving, but as the prices are low, I'd be careful to check terms in case of transporting valuable things and getting your own insurance!

It all went smoothly

The pre-planning went smoothly and our agent was helpful. However, the company didn’t explain the process of the second helper. We weren’t told that a ‘local’ helper would arrive before the van. The local helper would then help pack the van but would not travel with the driver and van. When the lorry arrived at our new home a second local helper arrived to unload the van along with the driver. Thankfully my husband had rung our agent in collection day and found out the system, he was able to explain it to me at the other end. Communication between the driver, helpers and us proved challenging. The driver was Polish the UK helper was Romanian (luckily he’s spoke a little German which the driver understood) and my husband is English. In France we had a French speaking helper but I thankfully speak French if I didn’t it would have been difficult. That being said the move went well! The driver was cheerful!

They caused at least 2K pounds in extra damages

I am certain this "company" is borderline illegal .

- They were paid the full amount 2 months in advance .
- Did not even show up despite the 3 day window that we planned
- Lied up to the very last moment and were ducking my calls.
- As a result I had to pay extra for storage and how have to fly back to pick up stuff which are basically stranded in another country.
- They did not even have the decency to pay for the extra damages they caused. I have initiated court proceedings to get my money back.
- Also they say that they are a part if IAM but they are not cause I called IAM and they said that they use IAM's WITHOUT PERMISSION ( i.e. fraud)

Is that what you want from your movers ??

Absolutely horrible experience

Our experience with European Moving reads like a study of dishonest and poor practices among moving companies. First of all, it is important to realize that this is not a real moving company with their own trucks and drivers but an intermediary that makes reservations with drivers at the last second, which is not clear from their website. While their initial offer was not a terrible price for the volume proposed, the weight was very limited for the volume suggested: 50 kg/m2. We did notice this at the time of booking, so we booked for more space than we thought we needed. A few days before the move, we sent an inventory and the agent we dealt with tried to say we needed to change our reservation to pay double the price. We then spent days weighing each item to prove that we did not have too much weight. Because we had a partial load, our reservation was made for some point during a 3-day window - we were supposed to be informed 24 hours in advance of when the truck would come. From the time of our booking, they were aware that we had to return our apartment on the third day and were flying to our destination the next morning. By the second day, we had not heard anything, so we were starting to be concerned. When we called European Moving, we got vague answers like 'don't worry. we will call you back when we have some news.' But there was never any news and eventually, as I talked to various people throughout the company, it became clear that they did not have a reservation for us and that they were just waiting for something to come up. I asked multiple times if we needed to come up with a plan B for moving but was always told not to worry and that it would be fine. At 3pm on the last day, we were told that our only option was to cancel the move. While there had been some discussion that they could put our things in storage, they refused to do so unless we paid an unknown fee for putting things in storage. The agent who said this was unapologetic and never took any real responsibility; they even began gaslighting us by fabricating a story that there had been a reservation with a truck that broke down - there is no way this is true, because I had called multiple times and multiple agents had looked at our file and told us that there was no reservation. Because we needed to vacate our apartment and fly to our destination, we hire someone else to help us move our things locally to a storage space. It later came out that they had not been able to find a truck because the budget for our move was too low - while they have denied it, I really believe they initially undersold our move, assuming that they would be able to manipulate us into paying more. While legally they should be responsible for the costs of putting our things in storage because these costs were caused by a breach of contract on their part, they have refused to do so, which sends a very clear message: Because they are not a part of any professional moving associations, it appears that our only option to hold them accountable would be to take them to court. In any case, the message is clear: this company considers that fulfilling their contract within the time agreed upon is optional and takes no responsibility if they fail to do so. Moving is already stressful enough without having to deal with companies that can't be depended on and that try to manipulate their clients. Our things were picked up from storage two days later and delivered late as well.

complete failure

We have chosen European moving based on the good experience we made moving to UK in 2017. I have mentioned in the quotation that we have the same things as last time, plus a bed, table etc. When the driver arrived he was „concerned“ about the amount we have and quickly called his boss to ask for a second van for a minor additional price. This minor price turned out to be the same price as we paid for the move ahead and I was pressed to pay immediately on the phone by credit card, though fortunately I have not.

I can’t help, but get the impression that it is some business strategy to get money from people who are desperate to sort out their move. The van looked smaller and much more shabbier than the vehicle we got two years ago and neither 23 cubics were taken nor the 1000kg as ordered. The paper handed over by the driver stated a 900kg load and according to my calculations only 16 cubics arrived. So what about the 100kg and 5,5 cubics which we paid for and have not been shipped?

Fine move, but room for improvement

Moved personal belongings and some small furniture from Belgium to Ireland. Initial communication was good and was able to get a specific collection date for an additional fee. Got caught by the weight versus volume limit - volume was low, but weight was high and so cost was adjusted to reflect this.

On the day of collection it was difficult to pin down a collection time and the collection ended up happening outside of the final window given. Also, I paid for an upper floor supplement to help with moving items down three floors to the truck. However, assistance was provided for only 1 of 26 items.

Delivery to final location was quite fast and plenty of assistance was provided. However, it would have been good to be given notice of what day the delivery would happen. I was taken by surprise when the truck arrived and was lucky to be at home at the time.

Disappointing

First of all when the furniture was being picked up in the UK, I was given 1.5 hours notice that the van was in the area instead of 24 hours, so this caused a lot of phone calls to arrange things quickly.
When the furniture was delivered, the main item, a sofa, was damaged in transit. As expected, no-one was responsible as it was always OK when it left each stage. The company then informed me that there was no insurance, and that this is included (somewhere...) in the contract. Whilst this was true, for the amount I paid for the move I expected to have it.
I suggested that they need to have as the first line on their website a statement to the effect that if there is any damage in transit they will avoid all responsibility.
Overall, very disappointed with the attitude, only thing that matters to them is taking money from people and customer service is a distant concept.
Wouldn't recommend them....

European Moving was extraordinary. Fast and fair price.

I am totally satisfied with the company. On time and fair price. Chloe was extremely patient and every time I needed any information she would reply very fast. I had no problems.

Horrible experience, I wish I could forget this nightmare

The company presentation of the move doesn't matches the reality, in fact the drivers are subcontractors that have no idea on the job they took.

Missed the loading window for almost 4 hours
First van that arrived just came to say that's it's not him but we need to wait for other one, seems like he was hoping to have one weighty parcel and not to move belongings
Driver doesn't speaks English or local language
For the late arrive, driver said he never planned to arrive later and that's company lies
We loaded and unloaded the van ourselves, even so we paid for a pack with driver assistance, but he refused saying he's only driver
Driver promised to arrive for unloading the day after at the morning, but was late for 5 hours, he had various excuses as for anything else he was saying
Driver closed the phone so we couldn't reach him on the unloading day
The van arrived with extra 600kg+ parcel on the unloading day, which not belongs to us, where we suppose to have dedicated van and a limit of weight

Overall, there is no connection between what happens on the ground and the website/phones of the company.
We also called may times to the call center, they were always checking the situation.

Good value for money but driver spoke no english

Communication from the company and planning of the move was very good.
Only problem was the driver was Polish (I think he arrived directly from Poland to Oxford where the collection was) and did not speak a word of English. Called the company and they said their drivers have a "basic level of English" which was not the case as the driver could not even understand the time.
Another little issue was that I booked an afternoon collection which is between 12 and 4pm but the dirver was already outside at 11am. Fortunately, he was happy to wait there as I had not finished packing at that time.
The shipping (Oxford to Bern) was direct and everything arrived intact and even before me but once again the driver waited for me for a couple of hours.

The truck was one hour and a half late. The customer service was very courteous and the driver was very helpful. The truck arrived on time and the driver was very helpful unloading.

Smooth and easy moving

Very reliable company - I highly recommend engaging their services. The planning phase was smooth, the communication was fluid. The hints about marking and labeling each and every item, as well as the tips on filling the inventory out were all very useful. All the goods arrived safe and sound, and the driver was exceptionally helpful in both loading and unloading the van. They helped me make a potentially stressful moving into a smooth operation.

The only downside of the experience was that the exact time of the driver's arrival was not announced in advance (this piece of information was supposed to be disclosed at least 24 hours prior to the arrival of the driver). As it turned out, the original van had a mechanical problem, and for a while it wasn't even sure that the moving would take place. The situation, however, was handled professionally, and a substitute van arrived a few hours later (which was great considering the remoteness of my pick-up address). So all-in-all the only thing that I'd suggest improving is the communication between the company's call centre and the logistics team (or the actual drivers themselves) so that the clients would get first-hand information on the whereabouts of the drivers, the actual arrival times, etc. (Seemingly the people on the other end of the phone were not sure themselves where the driver was, and the logistics team did not really provide them with meaningful information on a timely basis.)

Again, I repeat, European Moving is an excellent company whose services I'd highly recommend. A very pleasant experience indeed. I wouldn't select anyone else - and should the need arise, I'd call again. Thank you, European Moving!

I had the best experience with European Moving

I had the best experience with European Moving. Competitive prices, excellent customer service and communication, and a very helpful and friendly driver (Adam). Everything was moved quickly across Europe within a day, and without any damage or loss what's over. I have also recommended European Moving to colleagues.

Stress free from beginning to end.

From first contact with Dayne to receiving our goods in Spain I could not fault anything.We were told that there was a two week window for our goods arriving in Spain.In fact ,while we were signing contracts at estate agents the driver was calling to see where we were as he was outside our proparty. Fantastic.

Comfortable but a bit overpriced move

Communication by phone was too complicated and inefficient, because I had no direct number to my coordinator, a lot of call forwarding and waiting...
They sent an oversized van, so it made the move expensive. But they were helpful, everything arrived without damage and on time. I would use their services again.

Cheap and honest moving company

After shopping around for a company to handle our move from Central to Eastern Europe, we settled down with European Moving. Their price was good, much cheaper than anticipated, and they seemed very honest and clear about what the service entails.

The company is extremely responsive and very much willing to solve any doubts we had during the whole process. Their website is comprehensive and has loads and loads of information about how to handle the move from beginning to end - which is important, as they provide only the transportation itself, and all the rest we must do ourselves.

On the moving day, the driver came a little bit later than expected, but European Moving was very helpful in trying to track the driver and provide an estimation on when he would be at our door. We booked the whole van, so our load arrived quickly in our destination. We had no trouble unloading of the van, everything was there and in good shape. We had a very comprehensive inventory list, but the driver was not paying too much attention to that. I imagine that it would have been useful in case we had any problems.

My only complaint is that the driver did not speak English, nor the language of the country we were in, so we had to be creative in communicating with him. Other than that, we had a great experience with European Moving. Recommended!

Good and great price!!!

Good and great price!!! Only how they transported it was not with themes care. so because they are not responsible for the packing it is hard to say who damaged some things and when I saw how it was packed in the truck I would say some things got damaged there based on cramping everything in.

There were multiple problems with the move

There were multiple problems with the move. The first truck was overweight, the second didn't show up and the third broke down. So the move that was scheduled between Monday and Wednesday, didn't happen until Friday (a day after I was to have returned the apartment key). It was a very difficult and stressful situation. After the truck arrived the move was smooth and great. The week leading up to was not.

Will use in the future if necessary.

No thrills, book online, arrange the moving dates that suited me. They collected on the day scheduled, great help. Items were delivered a few days later, everything was in order which is exactly what I needed. Will use in the future if necessary.

Would recommend the service and use again.

Excellent despite the driver turning up late for pick up the move went well.No goods were damaged and we were able to keep in constant communication with driver.

Really good service. Lots of updates before the actual day and the driver was very helpful and hard working both ends. On the actual day you get no Updates and I had to contact the company 3 times to get a time and if needed up being after our booked slot. Moving is an anxious time so I just think some more info on the day would of haleped with this but overall very happy and would recommend

The move size was a part -delivery - 39 items. i was given a three-day window for the pick-up. I asked the company three times for the exact date and time immediately before and during that three-day window. They eventually told me that the vehicle due to collect my boxes was not in the country. I was incensed. (The pick-up was made two days later and went very smoothly. The delivery was also very good.) The operative I dealt with was, of course, highly apologetic, but the delayed pick-up was very inconvenient. I was told that a director of the company would phone me to apologise. No-one phoned. I will not use this company a second time.

We asked to move our furniture, 20 m³, from Boutersem near Leuven in Belgium to Bonifacio in the south of Corsica. European Moving provided a great service from beginning till end including the call just after delivery.

European Moving were given two months notice for our move from U.K. to Spain and we paid £2750 for two vehicles to transport our goods. I was told both vehicles would arrive in the morning and the drivers would assist with loading etc. The first vehicle turned up on the wrong day and the second van did not arrive at all. I contacted European Movers and they had no idea where it was. At 3pm I called EM who said they were unable to get a replacement van and someone would arrive the next day. I explained this was not acceptable because I had a flight to catch. At 4pm I called them again and realised they were not going to send anyone in time. I then hired a van myself and loaded it with items from a storage unit. At 7.30pm a van from EM arrived at my house and the drivers had no idea what was going on. That van also broke down in France. Shocking service which caused me lots of stress and the transport manager Sam has added insult by ignoring all my emails. Do not use European Movers

The company it self is quite supporting and trustable. The agent will follow your shippmemt zero to 100, But I had only one trouble with them. You need to be careful about timing, they can not open a wide time window from pick up time to delver, maximum 2,3 days, which at first they did not mentioned and forced me to buy extra plane ticket to be there one day earlier. All in all they delivered my staff from Italy to Germany safely, but I paid penalty because of their bad planing fir timing.

I sent in my inventory list to get an estimation the weight and of the price it would cost to ship. It was not even close to what my things weighed. We had to get an extra car, so it became double as expensive as expected. I felt tricked. Not a good feeling. Also, I got an emergency number to call after opening hours in case of crises. Nobody answered.I called them so many times, I even e-mailed them. No answer. Nobody called to apologize after the move either. There was good communication at the start, but when my things were going to be shipped, the communication stopped. The drivers were amazing, they kept calm under very stressful situation and they were the ones helping me stay calm, not the European moving company. I'm satisfied with the drivers (who drove my thing safely to my new home), not the company.

All our belongings arrived in excellent condition and was very quick. The only thing to watch out for is the weight / space ratio can be challenge. For example boxes of books will exceed your weight allowance quickly. It is just a case of planning well but European moving arranged for timely and secure transport of our goods.

A really good service for the money. Our move coordinator, Nuala, was excellent and everything went smoothly. Our goods arrived undamaged and the drivers we had were very polite and helpful. Tips and instructions about how to pack were super useful. A word of warning if you choose European Moving; it's a bit like Ryanair over British Airways. It's a basic service. Anything extra and you will pay more. Beware the weight limit - they only allow 50kg per m3 - this isn't a lot. Our stuff, on average, weighed over twice as much, and we weren't transporting furniture. We had about 4 m3 in the end, but it weighed 500kg. Luckily we had done some weighing before and detailed calculations, so ordered 12m3/600kg and this was fine. So err on the side of caution. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because it's quite hard work doing all your own packing and having just 24 hours notice of collection and delivery can be problematic. However I recommend the service. Just read the small print.

They were rubbish. They did not turn up during the 3 day window we agreed. They did not initiate any contact with me at all during the 3 days. I tried to contact them multiple times to get information which they promised but never delivered. We ended up missing our flight home at significant expense. I am taking them to court to recover my additional expenses. I wish I could claim for the stress and wasted time but I can't under the law. I complained to them twice before they even answered with basically: bugger off. NO STARS but you system makes me give them one!

All very good. Communications were well handled, especially the contact in..... Folkestone ( I think ). The goods were picked up by the driver ( Constantin ) without problem and arrived in England very quickly. The onward delivery to Plymouth went without problems.

Positives were the price, the initial customer service was friendly and the driver was punctual at both ends.
Areas to improve would be to be accurate with information. For example I was told that the van would have a tail lift (it was a Luton type van) but it didn't. A problem when the driver wasn't too keen to help with lifting a washing machine. Maybe he was told that he didn't have to lift anything, just organise it once it was in the back of the van.
It would also be good if everyone knew the same information. In our case the driver didn't know that he was going to meet us the following evening, not morning. That would have precipitated him driving all 7 hours in one go.

Great service in planning the delivery and pick up. Isabelle went above and beyond to work with our schedule.
The driver who picked up our belongings was punctual and professional. His equipment was in good working order.

Unfortunately the delivery side was not as smooth. there was a breakdown in communication with the delivery team and the driver. Our view is a delivery driver was booked who did not speak English, French or German and so failed to communicate with the logistics team or with us.

First they sent the mover one day earlier than the earliest estimated delivery date, without warning (mover just showed up with a truck when I was at work), then they tried to charge me for rebooking it, finally when the furniture arrived (significantly delayed) they failed to tell me the mover had arrived, and seemed unaware of it when I called them. I believe the poor mover had been waiting in his truck for several hours before European Moving called back and said he was outside.

They also sent an SMS threatening legal action to me, and when I replied they told me it was send in error; they had accidentally sent it out in bulk.

Overall they were terrible at answering emails, and I had to make phone-calls frequently to get updates.

Finally, all my furniture and electronics arrived somewhat damp. My keyboard doesn't work properly anymore, though my computer miraculously still runs (waited a few days for things to dry first, I might add).

Two stars because our things arrived eventually.

Anything agreed upon that's not in the contract was broken. Upon talking about that I got snippy excuses instead of apologies.

Instead of going directly from old to new country as promised, our things took a huge tour through eastern Europe first. Instead of two days it took a week. Instead of picking it up within the WEEK of a time window that we got it was the week after. If you are not 100% flexible on absolutely everything, do not use them. A lot of grey hair and lost holidays with this one.

Generally a very good service, with the vans turning up earlier than expected at both ends. Only quibble was that I didn't get much notice of the estimated arrival time (3 hours in UK, -2 minutes in Germany. Yes minus 2. They rang me after the driver couldn't get an answer. Fortunately I was only down the street at a local shop.) Very good price, especially for a small move.

It was by far the most flexible and cheap moving company I could find. Their methods are very smart and if you have a slightly flexible schedule (they work with a 5 day collection window and a 2-week window for delivery) this is just perfect for you!
Both the contacts with the office and the drivers were pleasant, clear and friendly. Although there were some re-arrangements of dates and minor traffic setbacks they have always taken in consideration my possibilities.

Terrible experience. Didn't estimate the size of my delivery properly. Didn't provide a weekend phone number that worked. Had to arrange an emergency van that cost me an extra 2500 EUR for additional items. They didn't offer anything in compensation for the inconvenience. They claimed my load was overweight but the driver asked me to sign a document saying it was 1000kg. They claimed it was 4000kg and I would need to pay more (they waived this fee). The mover was overweight, lazy and didn't speak English, In the end, you will end up paying more than if you go with a decent mover. Don't waste your time and spend the extra cash on a professional.

It seemed to be smooth moving: all the requirements are clearly written, my special thanks for no box needed for bicycle transfer. One suggestion is to provide the phone number to the driver -- it would have been much easier to find me in time if he could have called me.

they were friendly and helpful. i felt stresslevels rise specially concerning the size and weight of the load. first i thought i would be within a half size truck, but as you pack it became tight so i changed it to full size, which upted the price of course. i was only just over the half size but when all was packed and the driver weighed the van i was over several hunderd kilos of the 1000kg allowed for a full van! i had to pay for this on top. so although i picked this company for its cheaper price, in the end it turned out as much as any. so only good if you know exactly what you have.

The move went smoothly. The drivers were of the 3 vans were efficient, polite and happy. Only criticism, They came a little late in the morning, this made them arrive late in the evening. We waited, they decided to come in the morning without telling us. They didn't have our telephone number and we didn't have theirs. Eventually, we went to bed assuming they would come in the morning. However, we would move with them again as they were very good. The move was within France. From the Aude to Charente-Maritime, not the UK!

The company is totally ill organized. 3 main issues:
- communication: unable to communicate in due time and leave you uninformed of what is coming next
- quoting: underquote in order to ask for more money afterwards
- unable to work out a convenient appointment date

I would advise anyone to book with a company that doesn't restrict on weight!
I had multiple conversations about weight! My worries about the weight have been ignored and I ended up sending 2 van's 1/2 full. I felt ripped off, people not being honest, the calculation on itinerary is totally wrong! Not happy with the experience.

Very efficient service from beginning to end. The "moving manager", Oliver, was patient and helpful even though I kept changing the number of items to move. A van - not too big for an old French Alpine village with narrow streets - arrived at the right time and everything was loaded within minutes (this was a partial move involving lots of cartons and bags). Everything arrived safely at my London address three days later.

This company was really helpful to start out with, until I paid the deposit, after that the communication went quiet. Due to circumstances if our move and where we moced to, I was entitled to a grant, this had to be applied for by the company after the move was completed and repayed to us. Needless to say this never happened, we borrowed from my elderly mother to help cover until we were refunded, and now we can't pay it back, I can't work due to illness! Stay clear from this company, unless you can afford to get ripped off!!!

The driver was a nice guy, but he wasn‘t informed by the agency about how to do the move (through the window) and didn‘t have the right equipment, which was agreed by the agency more than once! Because it was impossible to move my sofa, i needed to store it at my neighbors‘ garden and organise another company two days later...
Overall i was highly disappointed, because it was really stressful and the agency didn‘t keep their conditions. It never would have been a problem, if they said we cannot arrange the whole move, then i would have had the possibility to manage it by myself, but before my sofa stands outsid ein the rain.

Very helpful office staff, competitive price. Removal men spoke very little English, some difficulties there with regard to potential van overloading, but over all a very positive experience, would definitely recommend and use again.

I emailed sales1@europeanmoving.eu on the 4th of September to advise my delivery address in Hannover and asked if my items could be delivered on the 30th September. I followed up on the 28th Sep to make sure everything was ok as I wanted to plan my weekend around the delivery. I received no response and on Sat the 30th, I called the office. I was told delivery would be on the Monday or Tuesday. I took 2 days holiday from work so I could stay in and await the delivery. On Monday I received a call stating the delivery would be 3pm on the Tuesday. My items didn't arrive. I phoned the office and was told they were rearranging the delivery. I then received a slot of thursday between 8 and 10. The driver arrived at 12.15am. This is not acceptable. He called to tell me he was driving from Poland and had to deliver my items that day. I have lost 2 days holiday for nothing. After tax, this is equivalent to £200. I am in work today extremely tired due to the late delivery.

The truck and mover who helped me pack and unload was a nice guy, and most likely was misinformed by European Moving, the company that subcontracted out the mover. I requested a timeframe to expect the mover, and was told 8am-12pm, I arranged extra help, at my own cost, to meet at my place in this time frame. As 12pm neared, I still had not heard from the mover, or any representative from European Moving. After getting ahold of someone, I was told the mover was running a little behind, but should be there by 12:30-1:00. I understood that things happen, and asked my help to stick around just a little longer. For the sake of avoiding a blow by blow of all messages back and forth, the mover did not arrive until 4:30pm, every time I asked for an update, I got a different story from European Moving. This was over 8 hours past the initial timeframe I was expecting. European Moving was unapologetic, and did nothing to make the issue better.

Move was very efficient - we got our stuff only 5 days after it left Hungary. All the boxes were there and everything was in good condition.

The only issue was that the Polish guy who collected our stuff and delivered it to us didn't speak any English or Hungarian. Luckily we both spoke some Italian, but that could have been a bit of a challenge. As there was only one guy, I had to help him carry a lot of the stuff, including a large bookcase that we had to take down four flights of stairs because the lift wasn't big enough!

At first i was delighted with their assistance as everything was sorted within only a few days. Absolutely magnificent service they offered. Up until the delivery everything seemed just perfect. Until the last payment had to be made, there were no issues whatsoever.
Then the issue started with the payment. I was told and i have proof in my email that the second half of the payment could be done with either a credit card or cash. We had chosen cash. The driver had no clue as apparently he had never taken cash in hand. My mother in law then spoke to Aidan, who coördinated the move and he was unbelievably rude stating i was lying. Eventually Aidan even made my mother in law pay more then what was the outstanding amount. After some emails, and me providing proof that payment by cash was indeed an option, he was very short in saying 'sorry for the misunderstanding, I'll sent it on to finance'. The refund was received. Yet a proper apology for his rude behavior I never received

Have had to buy nearly everything since we stupidly thought our cargo would arrive on time. We were unsure about using this company to begin with due to a couple bad reviews we read, but we went with them as they were the best priced, around £1600 for the entire contents of a two bedroom apartment shipped from Edinburgh to Mallorca. We were initially told they couldn't give us a delivery date for our furniture being shipped to Mallorca until 2 days before actually delivery, but in the end they confirmed delivery over a week in advance. This worked out perfectly for us. They were very accommodating during delivery as we actually hadn't received the keys for new apartment when the delivery driver and lorry turned up, but they were fine about waiting a few hours. All in all very good service and helpful friendly staff and we would recommend to others. Most importantly our furniture turned up in full and undamaged.

The truck arrived 4 hours later than the time window given. We paid for an extra person to help in loading, he never came! We had to load the truck ourselves when we specifically did not want to do it and hence paid for the person. We had booked a full truck so we have less hassles but the move was anything but smooth.
On the positive side, the driver was good and trustworthy.

European Moving was very good, per email and per telephone they responded instantly and also when we discovered the day before the move that we would probably need another van everything was arranged for well in time. Only issue was that the movers themselves (drivers of the vans) did not speak English or German very well so communication with them was a bit harder. Overall a good experience, I would definitely use them again.

I moved 5m3 from UK to Sweden this June in a Part Load with European Moving. The shipment was to be picked up any of four days and delivered the following week in a span of four days. The move went very fast, sent things off on the wednesday and received them first thing the following morning, so 5 stars for quick move!
However, I had left my phone number with European Moving and asked them to give me a call 30 mins before pick up since it was picking up from my work place. This did not happen and the driver didn't have my phone number but luckily I saw him on the street. Drop off went well, but the driver called the wrong number and I just managed to catch him before he drove off.

Despite this, the people I was in touch with at the company were very helpful and I was able to shift the pick up and drop off dates one day each which was easier for me. Definitely book with them, just make sure and double check they have your number!

I am not sure if I would recommend this company again. they gave me a superb quote based on my furniture, then I called to explain we had many boxes but they said this would not be a problem. The day of the move we had overweight on the van, they gave me a new invoice and claimed the goods could not be delivered until paid. I talked to them and we got a discount on the new invoice but in the middle of an international move with children the last thing you want is this kind of uncertainty on the costs. Appart from this all was perfect, quick transport and delivery, the driver was helpful loading and unloading all the items. I guess I got what I deserved but my relocation package was not very generous hence the search for a cheaper solution.

Avoid - cannot be trusted as a professional moving company

I booked european moving as a shared load with a friend to move items from two addresses in the UK to Italy. The professional estimators completely failed to estimate the load correctly, despite me sending full inventories. Neither did we have any conversations with the moving company regarding weight of the items. On the day of moving I was held to ransom for an additional 1000 euro and my friends items were left behind.
Also the van driver did not have addresses for the trip, the van itself was filthy inside, he didn't speak a word of english which slowed the whole process and to be honest the move was a complete disaster. On raising my complaints with the company, they were not interested.
Not a professional moving company - this is a haulage company more likely.

I had a very good experience with European moving. The customer service knew what I was asking and tried to fulfill my requirements in which ever way possible. Emails were answered promptly and if needed they called me. I am little unhappy with what they charged me for moving my stuff, but they were still cheaper compared to others.

Initially I thought the price quoted was a bit too good to be true, however I was encouraged by other reviews for the company. The person I dealt with, (Joshua), described it as a 'no frills service' which was pretty accurate - but suited us. Effectively we got a Luton van and a driver - we had to help load and unload, the van. Obviously we also had to prepack everything, and ensure it was safe for the journey and arrange insurance ourselves - but it was several hundred euros less than any other quote. Very impressed that a van could be found at pretty short notice to meet our exact timings. Only minor issue was over the weight limit on the van, 1000kg is not a lot.

Everything was as promissed, in time and smooth. The driver wa polish and wasn't really speaking english, but it was ok. They where nice people and organized. The also delivered in time. The moving was as smooth as possible, a few tiny scratches on few things, but if you pack it well, all good. A very good service, I recommend it honestly!

I would give less than half a * if i could. Absolutely RUBBISH compan!!. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!! They lost my stuff, and damaged goods in transit by overloading items onto furniture. They didnt deliver all items sent to their warehouse. They ripped a light off from the wall whilst moving a mattress to the room. They are denying any loss and damaged and im currently left with a bill of over a 1000 euros to compensate for the damage they caused to the property. Im dealing with their solicitors / insurance company who have denied the claim. They also delivered 9 boxes and the furniture belonging to someone else in another country and didn't know that it didnt belong to me!!!!???? Would NEVER use them again and they dont follow through on the offer they make

European Moving has inconvenienced me incredibly and caused me excessive extra costs:
- Very bad communication, different employees saying different things;
- The delivery date had to be re-arranged twice from their end;
- When I tried to call on the delivery date, no answer until I called from a different number. They were avoiding my calls!
- My stuff was delivered 2 weeks late in terrible shape. Dirty, badly packed into the van. Ripped boxes, bicycle was completely bent out of shape;
- I ended up spending more money on extra travelling, replacing broken items, having my bike fixed and the mattress cleaned, than the move originally cost me;
- When I complained they wrote me back saying it was my own fault;
- For a company who moves people across Europe, I am BAFFLED at how badly they handled the situation. I understand things can go wrong. Good customer service is just about COMMUNICATION. There was none. I wish I had used a different company!

House move from Bristol, UK to Niedersachsen, Germany. All boxes plus some delicate equipment (40in TV, computer, monitors, game consoles, rowing machine, etc), no furniture. In a nutshell the actual move was brilliant, we had a van turn up bang on time (8am) on the required day, and as it was a full van service, the very friendly Polish driver promptly delivered everything to our German address the next morning. There was nothing damaged and nothing missing.

I've docked a star because communication with EM wasa bit lacking. Somehow our collection date was put into their system incorrectly! Thankfully I rang up a week before our move date wondering why they hadn't prompted me for the balance of my payment. It got sorted fairly quickly and our move went ahead as originally planned. Still, this was a very worrying thing to get wrong.

Anyway, I'd highly recommend this service - just be sure to double-check your move information well in advance of your move!

Shocking removal company. I had seven of my boxes go missing and although I was told that I had insurance when it came to make a claim but I was not given accurate compensation although I followed strict instructions for labelling the boxes and kept an invoice of the boxes. I would not move with this company again and I would not recommend it to anyone unless you are happy for multiple boxes to go missing and not receive due compensation.

The mover who was selected last minute was very good .
Polite and efficient unlike your company who three days before my move still didn t contact me for the simple fact that they did not have anyone for it nor did they care! I had to call six times and complained more than once before someone found a person who contacted me !
In a word happy with the mover not happy with you !

It was our first big move, from Ireland to France with a bed, bycicles, table chairs and other stuff. The boxes were rather heavy because most of them were full of books (I am an university researcher). The moving went rather well, nothing was broken, just slight damage on the drawers where the TV sits and the glass of a painting destroyed during the unloading. I noticed a big difference the way the stuff was arranged between the collection (stuff was perfectly arranged) and delivery (stuff looked randomly trown inside the wagon. Big caveat: if you want to avoid surprises in the final price, pay attention to the estimated weight per cubic meter: it is very low! ( around 50 kg per cubic meter! Ridicolous unless you are moving boxes full of polystherene).

I put the initial move load requirements into your central form and was sent several quotes. Unfortunately the mover we chose had not correctly estimated the load and wanted to charge us a lot more. Despite explaining that all the other quotes I received had correctly interpreted the load items they refused to cancel the move (even thought I had confirmed it only a few hours earlier) - nor did they come back with a revised quote for the slightly larger load (by one sofa!). I was told I would be charged at least 50% to cancel. I wrote and called and got not response. In the end I had to cancel the credit card on which I had paid to stop. They tried to take the full amount of the move despite never confirming a final quote nor even a move date. Not a good experience.

First impressions/dealings with this company were very positive. Samantha, very attentative and understanding of my specific difficulties of which there were many. Sadly this was not carried out through the removal process itself. I do admit that I ran out of time packing and protecting my belongings, but I believe greater respect could and should have been shown during loading and unloading, resulting in many damages and losses. We sadly were not able to be present during the unloading, but upon arrival found our belongings to have been unloaded with even less respect or thought. Boxes labelled to be transported upright were found squashed on their sides. A Bookcase was standing upside down and slid on a hard floor causing damage. An Electric Guitar has gone completely missing. Many items of Bone China/other expensive decorative ornaments broken beyond repair. All very well packaged, witnessed by friends during unpacking. £s worth of damage and loss. One to avoid

The guy came on his own to collect 14 boxes and he was expecting my help but I couldn't help him and he had to do everything himself. On the arrival he also needed my dads help. My dad was told that if he gets a fine for parking he would have to pay for it. So my dad ended up taking most of the boxes up himself. Ideally there should have been 2 drivers. But the service was really fast and all the stuff arrived in good condition.

Maximum efficiency for a minimum of cost. The timing was perfect as I had decided, the furniture (15m3) was picked up in 30 min and delivered also in 30 min. No furniture was damaged.
