More than 50 items damaged or smashed moving to Dubai

The items were allegedly export packed but opening boxes at the far end, the movers had packed glass underneath heavy items.
More than 12 glasses broken, 10 items of crockery smashed, including two priceless display plates poorly packed. More than 8 pieces of antique furniture broken, with all six legs of a dresser snapped off, and glass doors broken. Company recommended a third party agent in UAE. Items marked fragile were packed at the bottom of a small truck and boxes damaged.
What they should have done was
- to crate crockery and glassware, packed separately;
- crate antique furniture, particularly to prevent broken legs when boxes were clearly pushed not lifted by unskilled labour;
- admit responsibility and respond when challenged with the evidence of a professional misconduct.

OK in the UK, terrible in NZ (destination)

Terry and his crew packed up the house and did a good job, however be very certain of the box numbers for items that need to be inspected. We packed a tent but the customs officials could not locate it when it arrived at the destination company, so be sure to take a note of item numbers likely to be inspected. Heather at NZ Van Lines was INCREDIBLY RUDE and UNHELPFUL. She acted like it was unusual to ask for a general idea for when our items might be delivered. She did not contact us, we had to keep phoning and getting in touch to find out where our shipment was which took three months to finally arrive - it was in NZ but not delivered for at least a month.

Great, with no issues

The whole moving process was great. We packed all the items and people who collected them were very nice and help out as much as possible. After the collection there was a bit of a gap in communication but as soon as the items left London we were uploaded every step of the way so it made us feel better and well informed on the progress. After arrival to Vancouver things went smoothly and quite a short process overall. Everything arrive not damaged and seem to be taken care of. There was no water damage or anything like that except one bag that had a few drops of water inside but nothing major and nothing that caused damage to the items ( this was the only thing that was not packed in boxes and we used our own bag for it ). Over all we are very happy to use this company and definitely recommend them and will use them should we need to move again. Great staff, pleasant service no complaints.

Really good!

All went well and the boxes were delivered back earlier than expected. The only minor problem was that some of itens were broken.

Continually chasing the company and trying to find my stuff

I shipped most of my things in February 2019 for them to finally turn up after many email and calls in July 2019, I then shipped the rest of my things in November 2019, first the boxes were dropped off a the incorrect address, then the second attempt the driver claimed no on was home when I was waiting there, third attempt was successful but dropped not the order I requested.
Some was shipped via air and the rest via sea. The air arrived damaged, no care at all taken with my belongings it was obvious. The sea freight I am still chases up, first I was sent an invoice with an address I have never lived, I also received someone else's email with my invoice attached, there was issues at customs as forms were missing, these had been given to the driver in London and were not with my shipping. I was told I would be sent an email for my delivery of my shipping a week ago and I have been calling and emailing for a week with no response. They are cheap for a reason I am learning. Very poor customer service and service overall.

Terrible

Lost a package that took over 2 months to solve it, really bad experience overall nothing feels guaranteed and employees had terrible communication throughout my issue. Would not recommend even though price is cheaper, the quota more expensive once it reaches their warehouse and from there on there’s nothing you can do other than pay it.

Our move was straightforward, on time and efficient.

Anglo Pacific were the most realistic in terms of pricing, as we had a minimal volume to ship they priced accordingly whereas other companies had quoted ridiculous amounts for such a small load. The booking process was easy and forms easy to complete and return. There was always someone to answer the phone regarding any queries which helped us achieve our tight deadline. Our shipment actually arrived a little early but arrangements were made to delay the delivery until we were able to accept it. Overall we were very satisfied with the service provided by the team at Anglo Pacific.

ANGLO PACIFIC LOST EVERYTHING I OWNED: SHOULD BE ZERO STARS

Unbelievable incompetence and neglect - appalling service - that's Anglo Pacific (AP). DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY WITH ANYTHING YOU VALUE. Not just a missing box, or a broken teapot - somehow, they lost EVERYTHING I owned when I made the mistake of putting my goods in storage with them, pending a move to the USA, subsequently abandoned. When I asked them to return my shipment, there was a resounding silence, a long delay; then they told me that they couldn't find my shipment. At first they claimed to be looking for it, then the silence descended - once you become a 'problem' for AP, you will not hear another word from them.
Yes, their insurers paid the face value, but when you pack away your life at 70, there are going to be items that no amount of money cannot can compensate for. For me, particularly, it was old family photos, memorabilia and sentimental heirlooms from my late parents; all my daughter's early years school and art work; my 1960s vinyl collection; and my portfolios containing nearly 50 years of creative work. All gone,
Then they refused to repay the £2000+ in fees that I'd paid them (for nothing) and I had to take them to court to get back the full amount, plus costs.
Two years since my stuff seemingly vanished from the face of the earth and several times I have asked AP staff (everyone, from accounts to CEO!) for news of my shipment, asking whether or not anything has been found. I even offered to pay towards the costs of returning my goods should they turn up - but the company has not once had the courtesy or the decency to reply.
If you want a full picture of this dreadful company, i would suggest you visit other removals review sites - with AP ratings generally from 1-2 stars - rather than their own, which looks very much like their own hand-picked selection.
Above all, I repeat: DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY WITH ANYTHING YOU VALUE.

Stressful!

I haven't had a very good experience with this company. I moved my belongings from London to Melbourne, the first batch of boxes took over 6 months to turn up and to the wrong address. The second batch I air freighted a case and shipped the remaining, and the case turned up 3 weeks later, after missing paperwork in customs and the case was left at a pickup location I could not get to as I paid a door to door service as no car. And the case was new when it left London, arrived broken and my belonging coming out of the case, I had to throw away the case. I am still waiting for the last boxes hoping they make it to my address and undamaged.

UK to US

Liaised with Nick 99% of the time.
Overall service was prompt and informative. He took the time to answer my many queries and gave good explanations to enable me to make an informed decision.
For example I initially wanted a sea freight because I thought air freight would cost more. However the quotation he gave confused me as air freight was cheaper than sea. He then explained that because I wanted to send my items to Texas, the sea freight would offload at NY and then my belongings would have to be driven all the way to TX, whereas there are direct air freights to Houston. Hence, I felt I was able to make an informed decision of going ahead with the air freight with a 10-14 day timeline.
My belongings were collected on 23/8/19 by a third party courier and I received notification of arrival at Anglo Pacific warehouse about a week later (note BH weekend), From the point of final payment, belongings were sent off the following day and arrived at destination about a week later. Boxes were still in good condition, though I would like to give myself credit for my thorough use packing tape.
Good experience!

Inefficient and frustrating

We had previously used Pickfords and had a good experience. From the reviews, we thought Anglo-Pacific would be similar quality, at a 15% cheaper price point based on the quotations. Unfortunately not, for reasons I think is well-reflected in some of the reviews below...

The main issue - we asked for delivery in Israel 15 August, they collected our goods in the UK on 7th July with a 2-3 week transit time. We have understood from our correspondence that nobody on their side bothered to book the boat until early/mid August. The result - delivery a month late (compounded by a further 1-week delay as a result of high winds at the port)...

Other secondary issues - a sarcastic guy who collected our goods full of comments about our items that made us uncomfortable; not bringing enough boxes and papers to complete the collection on the intended day; lack of responsiveness to communications (in one case, 13 days); poor or absent labelling of the boxes.

To be fair, when we raised the complaint, we were offered a small amount of compensation. However, this was a fraction of the amount of extra cost we had incurred as a result of the delay, so we refused it unless they upped the amount, which they refused.

On the other side, the local delivery agents on the Israeli side were excellent, and AP were helpful when we needed to retrieve an item that had accidentally been put into shipping

Delayed, poorly executed from a horrible company.

I was, and remain genuinely appalled by the level of service I received from Anglo Pacific. Paid to move my belongings within 7-10 working days from the UK my consignment took in excess of double that time to arrive.

This was initially because they deemed my measurements to be incorrect, something which I doubted highly having measured them multiple times. I disputed this with them repeatedly, as having initially been quoted £310, the cost was not increasing to be closer to £400. This included an £18 pick up fee using an external courier, which is mentioned singularly on their online method, however was not mentioned in conversations with my consultant TK. This fact was disputed by the company, but being sure of my own recollection of events, and having agreed verbally over the phone to the quote without this mentioned, I felt justified in disputing it. Due to delays in communication, days between emails and a frankly belittling tone to the emails I was receiving, I eventually spoke to a manager regarding the issues.

By the time my belongings were released, having agreed a 50% reduction in additional costs with regard to the size of my consignment and courier fee, which I still wasn't happy with, but as I required my belongings in my new country I was willing to pay, as to release my belongings to another company would apparently cost an outrageous £50 in itself. They offered to wrap the soft bag in question, 'but this could take at least another 3 working days as our warehouse is busy'.

I was also charged £30 for prohibited item removal, as I had packed hair wax within my belongings, (sounds odd, but difficult to get abroad). Fair enough, I had misread the item list, but this still seemed extortionate considering the service required, I was told that this price was set by the third party warehouse company, and there was nothing they could do. Be under no illusions, Anglo Pacific are apparently just booking third party services as a membrane at all stages of shipping.

I was unhappy about this but faced up to the cost, that was until my consignment arrived at my new flat, with the hair wax still within it.

This meant I had paid £30 for essentially NOTHING. I emailed once more, receiving once more a black and white, 'that's impossible, we have the hair wax here, would you like us to send it to your address?' response, despite me sending a picture of the wax fresh out of my consignment. I informed TK that I thought that this process should have already been underway, (my home address hasn't received it yet to this day), and that I still wished to have my money returned as they had not completed the job. If this is considered a prohibited item, then my shipment would have been delayed further within customs, something which can be a genuinely very long delay in the Middle East.

I have now emailed multiple times about being reimbursed the £30 for the service that was categorically not completed, and I have received absolutely no response from my consultant, or anyone else in the company that I have been in contact with.

This may be a cliche when reading reviews, but I rarely write reviews aside from leaving 5 stars for good service and moving on. I have had such a negative experience with this company that I feel compelled to warn others from using them. They are friendly and informative on the phone initially, but once you have a genuine exception to their services, they are cold, closed and at times belittling. Their additional prices are extortionate. Take a random persons opinion on the internet for what you will, but I thoroughly recommend utilising another company if you are making any form of international shipment.

Will have no hesitation in recommending Anglo Pacific again!

Used these guys twice moving from London to Australia and then Amsterdam to Australia and the service was very good. From being able to offer the best value in terms of amount, communication with us at every stage of the process was very clear and most appreciated. Will have no hesitation in recommending Anglo Pacific again!

Anglo Pacific World Movers - London

For my house move from France to New Zealand I chose Anglo Pacific, a company based in England. I only had a few personal effects to move so I decided to pack the boxes myself. Anglo Pacific said they'd send me boxes, which didn't arrive as planned due to a problem with the courier company. They then told me to buy my own boxes which they reimbursed me for. I don't know how the quality compares with those Anglo Pacific supplies or how they protect them during shipment but the boxes were pretty smashed up when I finally received them. Fortunately I had packed my stuff well. The agent I dealt with was helpful. My experience was complicated by the fact that I wasn't in England however Anglo Pacific were cheaper than the other quotes I got and things worked out in the end.

Anglo Pacific World Movers - London

Multiple issues after a successful pack: shipment had items removed and sent via inappropriate channels (later confiscated), and multiple items lost in transit. Initial failure to communicate compounded the confusion, and left us without any clothing. Not forthcoming with much in way of compensation, and even initially expecting us to pay extra fees to do with their incorrect actions. Not great at solving problems.

Expect to be nickel & dimed and to pay WAY more than the original estimate. Granted, their initial estimate was low, around £4K, but they added on an additional $2000 when I got to the USA. $600 for stairs and $1400 to "expedite" the shipment one week. The movers were great in London - they took their time because they're paid by the hour. The movers in Boston were just OK. Had I known it was going to be so much money, I would have done things much differently and gone with a better company.

What also annoyed me is that Anglo Pacific hired a company called Contour in the USA. They have nothing but one-star reviews online. I would never have gone with Anglo had I known they were going to use Contour as a partner. Just terrible. Didn't answer the phone... non responsive except when I had to make yet another payment. Ugh. Moving sucks... these guys made it worse.

Anglo Pacific :

The customer service was fantastic!!
However, I have a speaker that isn't working and a computer keypad that has button faults. This I accept, because things happen, the problem lies with the insurance department of the company, they haven't even been in touch (since my reply to their email of damage information) to help me get my payment arranged and I've followed all protocols to the letter and this is what's ruined the moving experience with Anglo pacific. Like I said, everything else was brilliant apart from the Anglo pacific insurance department. Had they of dealt with my small claim of less than £1000, it would of been
5 STARS all the way ??????????

I can only comment on the outbound portion of the move as our shipment isn't due with us for another few months. Having moved internationally far too many times now, I can say that Anglo Pacific are by FAR the best company to date. Courteous, punctual, efficient and fair (when dealing with excess that wasn't originally in the shipment quote). If I have to move again, I won't even search, I'll go straight to these guys. Also, their quote was the best out of about 7 shipping companies.

All the boxes where damaged and I was told that I should have taken out insurance. I gave my personal items and paid in full. The company should be fully responsible for taking care of my personal items from door to door. To me it is a money making exercise requesting for additional costs for delivery when the company should be responsible from start to finish. Would I recommend the company to family and friends depends on how the claim department processes my claim
